Ryan and Rachel broke up

From an interview Ryan gave to GQ magazine:

“I mean, God bless The Notebook,” Gosling says. “It introduced me to one of the great loves of my life. But people do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that.”
They broke up, is the thing. It’s been a few months. Gosling says it wasn’t the attention that did it, but other than that he doesn’t really know what to say. “The only thing I remember is we both went down swingin’ and we called it a draw,” he says.

The Notebook people have taken it harder. “Women are mad at me,” Gosling says with a rueful smile. “A girl came up to me on the street and she almost smacked me. Like, ‘How could you? How could you let a girl like that go?’ I feel like I want to give people hugs, they seem so sad. Rachel and I should be the ones getting hugs! Instead, we’re consoling everybody else.”

*sigh* And they made such a cute couple!

State of Play

I have some updates to go through so bear with me, haha. First off, it seems that Rachel has signed on to a new film!

McAdams, Mirren head to ‘State’
Wright Penn to play with Pitt, Norton in thriller

Rachel McAdams, Helen Mirren and Robin Wright Penn will join Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Jason Bateman in “State of Play,” the Universal Pictures/Working Title adaptation of the British miniseries.
Kevin Macdonald is directing; Matthew Michael Carnahan wrote the script.

McAdams will play a reporter in the middle of a career-making story, as her newspaper investigates the death of the mistress of a fast-rising congressman. Mirren will play the newspaper’s steely editor, a role undertaken by Bill Nighy in the original mini. Wright Penn will play the congressman’s estranged wife. She becomes romantically involved with the pol’s former campaign manager (Pitt), who leads the newspaper’s investigative team. Norton plays the congressman and Bateman plays the other lead reporter.

Andrew Hauptman is producing with Working Title partners Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. Paul Abbott, who wrote the six-hour mini, is exec producer.

McAdams is playing the title role in the Robert Schwentke-directed “The Time Traveler’s Wife” for New Line and recently wrapped Neil Burger’s “The Return.”

Mirren next stars in “National Treasure: Book of Secrets” for Disney and “Inkheart” for New Line. Wright Penn next will be seen in “Beowulf” and the Barry Levinson-directed comedy “What Just Happened?” for 2929 Prods. and Warner Bros.

“Married Life” Premiere

Looking absolutely adorable and gorgeous, Rachel attended the “Married Life” premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) today. Doesn’t she look awesome? I’ve added a ton of pics from the premiere and there will be loads more tomorrow; I’d add them all today but unfortunately I don’t have the time or the energy as I’m busy with schoolwork and whatnot. Enjoy the pics that are already in there!

The man who is with Rachel is her brother, and you can see Rachel signing autographs, talking to Entertainment Tonight, and taking pictures with fans.

Also, Ryan and Rachel are still dating; I believe Ryan mentioned it at the premiere of his latest movie, Lars and the Real Girl. Apparently Rachel isn’t too fond of the blow-up doll he took home from the movie set.

And get this – Rachel is Jessica Alba’s favourite actress!

1 Year Anniversary!

Film Festivals

Hey everyone! I’ve just got a few little bits of news for you all.

• Rachel’s film “Married Life” will be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival as well as the New York Film Festival. “Married Life” will be screened on Wednesday, September 12th at the TIFF. Rachel is supposed to be on the official guest list, so hopefully we will have pictures!

• Apparently porn star Jenna Jameson wants Rachel McAdams and Sienna Miller to play her in her biopic. Scarlett Johansson was her first choice but she “turned down” the role.

• And finally, it seems that Ryan and Rachel are officially over, but as everyone is saying different things, nobody really knows for sure. Ryan Gosling is also supposed to be at the TIFF, by the way, maybe we’ll know then.

I’ve also updated my affiliates, and changed the CSS just a tad. Images have borders now, whoopee.
